Frequently Asked Questions

What are your fees? Do you take insurance?

Rates are $150 for 50-minute sessions and $200 for 90-minutes. I accept BCBS, Aetna, and UnitedHealthcare. I can also provide a superbill for those who wish to utilize out of network benefits.

Do you see people in person or online?

Both! I offer in-person sessions on Tues, Wed and Fri in Swannanoa, NC–about 15 minutes east of downtown Asheville. Virtual sessions are possible most days of the week, depending on availability. Clients may choose to meet in person, online or do a combination of both.

Do you work with individuals or groups?

I work primarily with individuals. I periodically offer art making and ceremonial workshops and group events. Sign up for my monthly newsletter or contact me directly to stay alerted and find out more about these offers.

What's the difference between counseling and coaching?

As I offer it, counseling is targeted towards healing trauma and emotional wounding while coaching is targeted towards developing self-healing tools and strategies. Counseling tends to be a longer, deeper process and is most appropriate for people who suffered childhood wounding or other significant trauma. Coaching is most appropriate for people who have done quite a bit of healing work and want to go deeper in developing psychological and spiritual tools for helping themselves and/or others. I can only provide counseling to people residing in North Carolina. Coaching is available to people anywhere.

What are your specialties?

I help people with a wide variety of challenges, including: high sensitivity, anxiety, depression, trauma, existential crises, life transitions, relationship issues, work issues, life goals and health/wellness. Basically, anything that is disrupting your ability to thrive. I help people identify the unconscious factors that keep them feeling stuck (aka shadow work). This is accomplished through various methods, including Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, mindfulness, art, visioning and other creative practices. This work is medicine for the soul.

What populations do you work with?

I work with adults aged 18 and up. I work best with creative, intuitive, independent, introspective, open-minded, curious, and highly sensitive beings. I love working with artists, teachers, seekers, healers and helpers.

How long are sessions?

I offer both 50-minute and 90-minute counseling sessions. Longer sessions allow more time for deep work. Clients may choose whichever works best for them or schedule a combination of these depending on their needs. Coaching sessions may also be either 50 or 90 minutes but customized plans offer additional flexibility and personalization.

How frequent are sessions?

I typically see people for counseling once/week or every other week. More frequent sessions are occasionally scheduled in times of crisis. Monthly sessions are an option for people who are generally feeling well and simply want accountability or a wellness check-in. Coaching is customized but typically includes every other week or monthly sessions.
